    We are seeking a dedicated Patient Service Representative. In this position you will be responsible for taking patient orders, verifying patient information and placing orders in a timely manner.

    • Accurately log orders to the Central Intake Servers
    • Answer incoming calls from VA hospitals, locations and patients
    • Complies with all applicable company policies and procedures
    • Contact Rotech locations, contracted hospitals, patients or Healthcare providers to gather additional information to process orders
    • Gather and analyze information and identify and resolve all problems in a timely manner
    • Maintain accuracy and quality control while inputting orders into IMBS within the contractual time frame guidelines
    • Perform other duties as may be required or assigned
    • Perform various IMBS functions such as searching for existing patients, setting up new patients, creating delivery and pick up tickets, voiding tickets, changing locations and prescription renewals
    • Process faxed orders utilizing the fax server, IMBS and Outlook
    • Troubleshoot patient issues and problems
    • Understand the differences of VA and Managed Care contracts to accurately process orders
    • Utilize eReferral to process renewals, cancellations and process patient updates

    Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent
    • Experience in medical field and administrative record management preferred
    • Strong customer service background
    • Knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing practices and billing reimbursement
    • Knowledge of insurance policies and requirements
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean record in the state in which you reside (where applicable)
    • Employment is contingent upon a drug screening test and background investigation

    Physical Demands

    • Utilize computer and speak on telephone for extensive hours
    • Ability to sit for extensive hours
    • Ability to walk and stand on a regular basis
    • Regularly review documents with small print
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds

    Machines, Equipment and Technical Abilities

    • Able to use common office equipment (e.g. telephone, copier, facsimile, computer, etc.)
    • Microsoft applications including but not limited to Word and Excel
    • Internet navigation and research
    • Email transmission and communication
    • Typing skills

    Work Environment

    • Office environment

    Departmental Interaction

    • Works closely with the Call Center Supervisor who is responsible for day-to-day activities
    • Receives ongoing training, support, review, direction and programs from the Call Center Manager
    • Maintains close communication with all other location personnel to ensure consistent communication on patient matters
